HAWAIIANS: The Classic Aloha Shirt

This is our take on the classic Hawaiian or Aloha shirt. These shirts were first introduced in the 1930's and gained popularity in the 50's. The original Hawaiian shirts were made of recycled Japanese kimono fabric. We used 100% cotton fabric from Japan in a printed chambray and a printed plain weave. In order to perfect the fit, we researched a good friend's collection of vintage Hawaiian shirts spanning across several times periods.Instead of going with the straight bottom hem, we added a bit of refinement with a slight sure, while still keeping true to the original design. This Hawaiian features indigo dyed cotton labels made in Italy. Four times as expensive as the polyester alternative but worth every penny. We pride ourselves on subtle details such as the engineered pocket, as well as 1/8" double needle accents throughout with 10-12 stitches per inch sewing. All Freenote buttons are custom with branding. This particular shirt features real horn fisheye buttons.
