Great alternative

These jeans fit exactly like their other western cut. A dressier alternative to traditional denim. Love the western cut. I have skier legs and finding jeans that aren’t “skinny” in thigh and calf are always tough. They are still very modern, more fitted however.

Great Color and Cut

I absolutely love the color of these jeans. For me it’s a dressy enough look for the office and is a great alternative to indigo. In terms of cut it’s perfect for my boots. I thought from the dimensions online the leg opening may be too wide but on they are a great look. I sized down from the Wilkes in the broken twill because the sizing is a bit different. They were snug at first but were overall more flattering and are opening up a bit.

Rugged & Unique

I ordered these brown jeans because I wanted something rugged I could do stuff outside in and do some work in, but still look good and honestly I was just plain intrigued by the brown denim.

In terms of color, they are really interesting and there is even what I would say is a subtle purple undertone to the brown. It took me a moment to warm up to them when I first tried them on, but after getting to know them a little more, I really like them.

In terms of the cut, despite the name I do not feel like the Wilkes cut is a particularly western cut, my 2 cents is that it's slightly confusing to me as a customer that this cut is dubbed as "western", because in my experience it's fairly normal and honestly the cut that seems to fit me best. I'm glad it's not too "western" because I really didn't want something that was overly cowboy style or too wide at the leg opening, just wanted some nice jeans. From trying them on in comparison to the Trabuco cut and looking at the measurements, I determined that this cut is actually very similar to the Trabuco but with a little bit higher rise and an extra inch in the thigh, which I personally like because I have somewhat athletic thighs. Leg opening is the same as the Trabuco.

Overall, cool jeans and looking forward to wearing them in more and seeing how they break in and fade. I'm currently having about an inch and a half hemmed off by the tailor.

Great color

This brown is exactly what I wanted—not too dark or too light. I have three Wilkes and they fit perfectly over all my boots.

The Wilkes is the newest fit introduced into the Freenote denim line. The fit and construction methods are an ode to the original cowboy cut. We began with the traditional western fit and modernized the overall specs for an updated classic meant for all occasions.

A generous top block with an elongated front rise matches with a fuller thigh and moderate taper for a fit that works great with any pair of boots. The construction details include a yoke over, a double needle outseam, and a preserved selvedge detail with the folded outseam.
