Great jacket

Fits like a darn glove, soft and warm lining, looks great with a pair of jeans. Looking forward to autumn so I can wear this thing all the time!

Best damn jacket.

This is my first Freenote jacket, but won't be my last. I'm 5'7" 135 lbs, purchased a small, and it's the best fitting jacket I've ever owned. It warm on it's own, but not overly so, and with a sweatshirt underneath should keep you toasty in some pretty cold weather.

I love the design. The quality seems like it will last forever, and more than justifies the price tag. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

This is my second Riders Jacket. The black model wasn't a replacement, but an addition to the Tobacco version. I'm not a rich man. These jackets are not cheap...nor should they be. There's a lot to consider when you plunk down this kind of money. Does the style have staying power? Is it well made? How much can I throw at the rascal? Am I gonna look worth a damn in the thing? Hell...is Freenote Cloth the type of folks I'd wanna do business with?! Here's what I know...when I'm able to stack a few bucks, I always head back to Freenote. I guess there's no truer form of purchasing tribute than continued buys. I've put my Riders Jackets through the sh!t...rain and muck and cold. I've also put my elbows on a bar, and felt damn cool in the jacket. Then again, it coulda been the bourbon...but I'd go with the first take. All this to say, this is the best jacket I've ever warn. The cut is perfect. The craftsmanship is second to none. It's a fitting product for the folks that make it. If you've been at the edge of purchasing this legacy piece, just do it. And wear the hell out of it for a long damn time.

Perfect Jacket

This was a 40th birthday present. I’ll be honest, I could not have afforded it otherwise. But man...if you can swing it, go for it. Incredible jacket that will really last. Have been wearing this for a couple weeks now. Not so thick that you can only wear it when it’s freezing. Very versatile. High quality materials and stitching....this thing is built to last. Every inch of this thing was thought out. I could have squeezed into a Medium...but it definitely would have been more of a hipster fit. I am 6’ 170. I am glad that I went with the Large. A little more room for layering. A little longer in length. The only downside in going up a size was that it made the sleeves a little long. Not too long...but about an inch longer than I’d want them. Easy to turn up the cuffs, but then you see the satin sleeve lining...and its a noticeable brown gold color. I wish they had gone with something that was a bit lower key for the sleeve lining...the gold stands out. But thats a minor gripe. I love this jacket. This was my first Freenote purchase. I now have a deep appreciate for what they are making. Solid stuff from a solid company.

Rugged, great look and material. Perfect for much of the year in the northeast. Love the details and feels like it will even get better with age. The fit is perfect I usually wear a large (6’1 180 41 chest). My arms are on the longer side and it fits like it was custom made. Also very reasonably priced compared to similar jackets—Definitely grab one while they last

The Riders Jacket, or RJ-1 for short, was one of the first jackets we ever designed. It is a unique mix of a classic ranch jacket combined with a riding jacket. The front pleats expand with movement along with the shoulder gussets in the back. Construction highlights include 1/8” stitch details and custom metal hardware made exclusively for Freenote Cloth. The RJ-1 is equipped with our signature action back for added mobility. Hidden elastic bands in the interior of the jacket help keep the shoulder gussets in place and allow for ease of movement in this heavy piece. In addition, the sleeves are lined with a cotton/rayon blend to make the jacket easier to put on and take off.

We built this jacket for the long haul using the most resilient materials and durable construction methods. With each wear, it will get more comfortable as it molds to your body, creating a custom fit. It will develop a unique patina as the wax is displaced in high wear areas, a sartorial chronicle of the adventures you’ll have in it. Like everything we make at Freenote Cloth, the Riders Jacket is built to last.
