Superb Craftsmanship

The Riders Jacket is yet another example of the superb craftsmanship that Freenote is known for. The attention to detail and quality of materials is impressive. I've only been wearing mine for a few weeks now, but it has already become my new favorite jacket.

Rugged and right!

This jacket checks all the boxes.
The attention to detail is second to none. The quality is something that you don’t see much of anymore.
This is a jacket that will last for many years and serve you well no matter how you choose to wear it. An icon that will be worthy to pass down. Happily and handsomely willing and able to serve it’s next lucky owner.
I own a black and an oak. Enough said!

Impeccable Jacket

I've recently received my black riders jacket in November just in time to ride out the remaining days of the autumn season here in the Netherlands. I can totally appreciate the level of detail and quality that goes into this piece. After having worn it 3-4 times I could already feel it shaping itself to my preferred fit. I was slightly concerned at first with the medium fit, since I do like to wear layers, but after the push and pull of wearing it a couple of times, this jacket has opened up beautifully. I also get the feeling that as the years roll by this jacket's character will also continue please me on all levels. Thanks Freenote Cloth + shout out to Drew for the tip of sticking to the medium fit.

The perfect jacket. Biker bar, dive bar, swanky cocktail bar. West coast, Rockies, Brooklyn. No place where it doesn't work (and if it doesn't, you probably don't want to be there). Not so warm that you have to take it off inside since you def won't want to.

Pics don't do it justice. turn up the collar and it looks even better.

I'm 6'0, 200 lbs. Large fits (nicely) like a glove, so no layering under it.

PERFECTION

What a phenomenal piece of kit! Fits like a tailored piece. I'm 6'1" 175lb and the medium fits like a glove. Super durable yet elegant. The lining is a nice touch also. Very warm with a simple sweater or vest layered underneath, will get me well below freezing that way but will be more than sufficient on its own through the shoulder seasons. Looking forward to many years of service from this fine jacket.

The Riders Jacket, or RJ-1 for short, was one of the first jackets we ever designed. It is a unique mix of a classic ranch jacket combined with a riding jacket. The front pleats expand with movement along with the shoulder gussets in the back. Construction highlights include 1/8” stitch details and custom metal hardware made exclusively for Freenote Cloth. The RJ-1 is equipped with our signature action back for added mobility. Hidden elastic bands in the interior of the jacket help keep the shoulder gussets in place and allow for ease of movement in this heavy piece. In addition, the sleeves are lined with a cotton/rayon blend to make the jacket easier to put on and take off.

We built this jacket for the long haul using the most resilient materials and durable construction methods. With each wear, it will get more comfortable as it molds to your body, creating a custom fit. It will develop a unique patina as the wax is displaced in high wear areas, a sartorial chronicle of the adventures you’ll have in it. Like everything we make at Freenote Cloth, the Riders Jacket is built to last.
