    Stylish and Comfy

Simply put, it looks good and feels good. There are times when I bought denim that looked good but felt uncomfortable. These Portola pairs are perfect for my size. I am 5'4" 160lbs, think athletic thighs. So the roomy bottom and taper is appreciated. I cannot wear too baggy jeans because it makes me look way shorter than I already am, so the taper is awesome.

It is already broken in with the one wash, it it's not stiff as the raw denims.

I appreciate the care and details that Freenote. I usually go with my size of my waist to match, it's been spot on so far.

So, far I've had about 6 pairs of Freenote. My go to are Portola and Avilas.

Blue jeans give black jeans a run for their money

I've been exclusively wearing black jeans since I was like 14. My whole wardrobe is built around black jeans. I've had two pairs of the portola in black over the last 5 years (still breaking in the second pair), and I came back for another recently. But, some Springsteen song playing on the radio, or some barbecue smells wafting through the air, or somebody talking about baseball made me consider buying blue jeans for the first time in my adult life.

Well, now I have to update my whole wardrobe for blue jean days. These look great, the fit is amazing, and they are much softer and more supple than the black portolas I've had, but not in a way that is flimsy. They still feel like they'll have a long life, but will break in much quicker than black pairs. Thanks to Freenote for having a model man who is the exact same size/shape as me, it makes buying clothes on the internet pretty risk-free. I can confirm that at 175 and 6'0" , a size 32 fits perfectly. Maybe I'll listen to an Andrew W.K. song and buy some white jeans next...
