The Wells is a vintage inspired fit, similar to some of our more relaxed shirting styles, like the Scout or Benson, but slightly more tailored. It features triple needle stitching in high stress points, 1/8” double needle detail stitching, chain stitch thread runoff, acorn shaped pockets, and custom antiqued fisheye buttons made from real bone in Italy. The shirts are also pre-rinsed after sewing to reduce shrinkage. The Wells plaid is a classic, comfortable, hardwearing shirt that pairs well with both denim and chinos. Proudly cut, sewn, and finished in the USA.
The loose weave plaid was custom designed in-house and manufactured exclusively for Freenote Cloth by Maruwa Mills in Japan. The 100% cotton fabric is woven on vintage machines to create a subtle, slubby texture. We chose a yarn-dyed fabric to create rich and vibrant colors that will patina with wear and washing. Weighing in at 7 ounces, the fabric works well for year-round wear, while still feeling sturdy and substantial.
