      About the Benson Charcoal Buffalo Plaid

      We started the design of our latest Benson back in late 2018. The goal was to create a heavyweight overshirt with a custom yarn dyed plaid. Taking inspiration from our own archives, this particular design is a modified version of a plaid from our collection, updated with colors that we have used since the inception of the brand. The textile is a heavy 11 oz. yarn dyed twill, finished with a light brushed effect. We are proud to present to you this fully custom piece, the Benson.

      Phenomenal Fabric and Construction

      This 11 oz. twill is amazing. I love how Freenote utilizes natural fibers in bombproof construction with a great aesthetic.

      I think the only area of improvement would bigger pleats or gussets. The range of motion and flexibility here just isn't what I've come to expect from other flannel companies that are over-engineering their shirts. When I'm reaching up or stretching the sleeves slide up way too far. That's a bummer.

      Quality construction

      Very happy with this shirt. The weight is right, the quality of the construction is incredible and the shape around the front and back edges is spot on.
      Stitching feels very secure and is rugged.
      I have jackets in my closet that have more flimsy stitching than this shirt. I know I will be wearing this for years.
