About the Calico 9 Ounce Indigo

The Calico | We started with the sawtooth western design and modified it. We reduced the pocket flap design to one tooth or a single curved point. The curved front yoke matches the pocket flap curves which creates a classic styled western.

Perfect western shirt

I had been looking for a while. This is the perfect weight and the the pocket detail sets it apart. Overall service was fantastic.

Perfect weight for a Western Denim

Having tried several denim westerns from other companies, many using Japanese denim, I have decided that the 9oz weight is the perfect weight for nearly year round wear. This shirt is cut perfect. For reference I wear a Large in most Freenote T's, henleys, and the Jepson button-down. I actually gave this a hot wash and was able to get a touch more shrink out it, allowing it fit perfectly. Another homerun from Freenote. Can't wait to see how this develops and fades.

Spectacular Western Shirt

I love the way Freenote Cloth shirts look but they usually don't come in sizes small enough for my frame (17" cross-shoulder), so when this popped up I had to buy one.

The fabric is soft yet weighty. This definitely isn't a shirt you can wear comfortably in the summer and it could probably work as a light jacket in a pinch. I really like how the double needle yoke stitching looks which is why I chose this over previous versions of the Calico. The stitching throughout is neat and dense and there aren't any major mistakes that I can point out.

The fit is excellent, not too slim but not too relaxed either. The sleeves are a bit long for me but they don't ride up when I extend my arms so that's a trade-off I'm willing to make. The length is good and stays tucked in.

The snaps were a point of contention since I was concerned about how long they were going to last but they don't feel like they're going to wear out any time soon.

Overall this is an extremely high quality shirt and I am looking forward to wearing this for years to come.
