About the CD-4 Jacket Brown

The CD-4 is Freenote’s interpretation of a classic ranch jacket. Featuring an alpaca/wool blend body lining with custom quilted and insulated satin sleeve lining from Japan, this jacket is an ideal choice when the temperature falls. The fabric is a Japanese pigment dyed plain weave that, like denim, will soften with wear and develop a unique patina as the pigment chips away in high wear areas. The jacket has a zip front and top button closure, pleat detailing on the body, and two patch pockets with side entry hand warming pockets underneath. Proudly cut and sewn in Los Angeles, California.

High Quality

Very well constructed jacket. Definitely size up if you plan on layering.

I am 5'10 with a large, "athletic frame", ~200 lbs. Definitely some chub on my tummy but not entirely out of shape. I bought XL.

I tried the jacket on without a shirt and it fit snugly without limiting mobility. I could definitely fit a shirt or sweater underneath. If I wore a shirt + hoodie beneath, I might then start to feel a bit too snug if I tried zipping up the jacket. Play it safe and size up if you plan on layering, which if you're buying this jacket, I assume you would.

Note that the zip doesn't go all the way, it's more of a 3/4 zip with a button on top. I could button it but it was like buttoning the collar on a dress shirt. Definitely a bit of a squeeze, but I don't plan on buttoning it up like that for normal use.

I really liked the quilted sleeves. Super comfy and slick. Almost a silky, satin feel to it. It's orange if you're wondering.

There are indeed hand-warming pockets built-in below the front snap pockets you see, so don't worry about what to do with your hands.

The inside lining isn't overly scratchy whatsoever, but I wouldn't try it on again shirtless lol. This is my first article of clothing I've owned made with any alpaca and it seems incredibly warm and sturdy.

Overall, a worthy purchase, and something I plan to pass owning for a lifetime and passing down to my children. Built sturdy and tough. And the aesthetic is the reason I bought it! Thank you, Freenote Cloth!

Really, Really Diggin it !

I had a deck Jacket and while they are Awesome for warmth and style, the alpaca collar and sleeves itched me enough to Bother me and felt a tad bulky. This jacket while still very warm has none of those issues. I replaced the deck jacket with this and Moved the deck jacket onto my brother in law. The brown color is richer and slightly darker in person and the outer and interior fabrics are amazing! The zipper is very unique and cool how its custom length leaves a very cool V opening at the top instead of going all the way up and where it starts at the bottom is also very cool. I’m really diggin the fit of this one too. The fit Reminds me of my new 17oz Freenote indigo trucker in a great way. Snaps on the front pockets rock too! Was in the 50’s today where I live in Texas so wore this bad boy out. Definitely seems like a timeless piece to me !
