Dope & Fit

This jacket is amazing. I traditionally wear size large in Freenote Wovens - i'm a 22.5" chest and 18.5" shoulder. I initially went large here, but decided to drop down to a medium. I can still layer. Both pieces were true to size based on the site's dimensions, but the material has give so medium is perfection. Also, keeping it open has value for the glorious Waves print ripstop lining!

Thoroughly-Crafted

The fit is impeccable--especially, the back and shoulders. The Bedford cord and ripstop are such a solid combo. Both weaves are dense/durable but the jacket is breathable and allows for full swing motion. I hope y'all keep making field jackets because this is prime.

Happy

I'm thrilled with this purchase, and looks very good while riding a Harley through cool weather! I see myself using it during cool spring and summer days/evenings.

Excellent

Just received it. I plan to keep it. Craftsmanship is excellent. The jacket is not too heavy as expected but a fine outer layer. Inner lining is the best I have seen for these type of jackets. Mine was spec-ed to fit over full zip up hoodies I own for cold weather use, so by itself it is a bit oversized for me at a size XL, being that I am 6'2" ~180 lbs ~40" chest. Nevertheless, there is not too much back tail yet given no tapper bottom edge, sleeves are not too long and the buttons can be buttoned up all the way with said hoodie layer given the collar design spacing, which was a good surprize. Forward pockets are nice and upper ones fit a new iPhone SE. Could wish there were side hand warmer pockets integrated into the coat. Even so, I look forward greatly to its use.

The Keynot is Freenote Cloth’s reinterpretation of a classic hunting jacket. Based on a vintage piece we found in Alaska and updated with military inspired details, the Keynot is the most complex jacket we have ever made. The action back, like all of our action backs, has interior elastic bands that return the gusset into place after movement. The patch on pockets are expandable with inverted box pleats. The overall fit is tailored, without sacrificing mobility. It is a jacket that is as functional as it is handsome.

The Keynot is offered in two versions. The first is a recolored cold war era camo, printed on Japanese textile. The second is an olive colored Bedford style cord from Japan. We lined the camo version with chambray, while the olive version is lined with wave printed dobby cloth. The linings, like the body of the jackets, are both Japanese as well. In addition, the sleeves are satin lined for ease of entry and exit. The Keynot is proudly cut, sewn, and finished in Los Angeles.
