Perfect

These are the perfect jeans. They aren’t tight and they aren’t baggy. They remind me of how the 501s fit, yet, these are way more quality than Levis. Everything from the thick leather patch, only sewn on two sides (so you can slip your belt through), to the belt loops being sewn into the waist, to the selvege line matching the color of the topstitch, to the thick, yet soft pocket bags, appear to have a lot of thought put into it. From day one, these have become my favorite jeans, and I own jeans from all the major raw denim brands. I’m excited to see how they break in. Thank Freenote!

Great pair of jeans

These are really great jeans. They’re a step above similarly priced jeans in both quality of construction as well as fit. If you’re looking for a classic fit pair of jeans that aren’t too skinny or too loose, the Trabucos are what you want.

Beautifully crafted jeans

Really impressed with these jeans. I own a few Freenote jeans but this is my first go with the Trabuco cut. Similar cut to a 501. Not too skinny. Fits over cowboy boots. Attention to detail. Beautiful leather patch and buttons. Can’t wait to break them in. Fit great so far. True to size.

Great Jeans

I recently ruined an old pair of jeans, and started looking for a replacement. I tried several styles of Oni Denim, Fullcount, OrSlow, Momotaro, Naked & Famous and Studio D'Artisan. They were all cut so tight in the calf, knee or hips that I had to try pairs with a waist so large it would have needed serious tailoring. I finally came across the Freenote Portola and Trabuco jeans -
problem solved! These styles fit great (not too baggy or slim), are made from great selvedge fabric, feel like they'll hold up for years and, from what I can see after a few weeks of wear/washing, look like they'll wear well. Very pleased with this purchase.

Classic looks with more fade potential

First time with the Trabuco and the Kaihara denim. Day one- crisp, somewhat stiff. I noticed the Kaihara feel and color more than other Freenote denim. Little tight in the top block and thighs. As another reviewer noted- go Wilkes or Belford if you want straight and roomy. By the end of day one I almost wished I’d gone Belford with non Kaihara. Almost.

After a 20m cold soak and 2 more days of wear- gone is the starchiness. The denim feels almost soft. Fit is snug, spot on. Looks good. I can already tell the Kaihara is a good for fades. Gone is also that moment of doubt about the fit and fabric choice.

Other notes:
Leather patch, stitching - always top notch with these guys.

If you put your phone in your front pocket - the placement of the rivet is such that your phone is safe- other jeans have that rivet in prime position to scratch the phone and I’m always putting my thumb over it- 50xs in 3 days I’ve caught myself and thought “oh yeah these guys get the details.”

The Trabuco is our version of a classic fit pant. Our goal with the Trabuco was to create a great fitting pant with a perfect balance of comfort and taper. If you are looking for a fit that isn’t too loose or too tight, this is it.

We started by opening up the top block, elongating the rise and adding room to the upper and lower hip areas. The thigh is cut full and the leg opening finishes with a slight taper. The Trabuco is a timeless fit, and it is one of our personal favorites here at Freenote Cloth headquarters.
