About the FREENOTE CLOTH X WHITE'S BOOTS - OXFORD LTT - DISTRESSED ROUGHOUT

American workwear has always been one of the biggest inspirations here at Freenote. Naturally, when an opportunity to work with one of the all-time great Made in the USA brands presented itself, we didn't hesitate. White's Boots has been around since 1853 (not a typo, they have been cranking out boots since the mid eighteen-hundreds). Built to the highest standards, White's is a household name with loggers and wildland firefighters in the Pacific Northwest. Their boots are designed with durability and all-day comfort as the top priorities.

Our latest White's Boots collaboration features a Lace-to-Toe Oxford and an Eight Inch Rancher Boot. Both models employ White's hand welted stitchdown construction paired with their signature 55 Arch Ease Last and Vibram's Cristy Wedge Outsoles. Hand welting is a time consuming and labor-intensive process that has become increasingly rare. Today, it is typically only offered by the bespoke footwear houses of Saville Row as the difficulty and expense renders it inaccessible to most footwear makers. Compared to goodyear welting and other modern construction methods, hand welting results in a hardier and more durable product that will break in like no other to create a truly custom fit. White's is one of the few makers still using this time-honored technique in their production line.
