About the Mariner Heavy Jacket Olive

We are proud to re-introduce the Mariner Jacket. For this version, we decided to line the entirety of the jacket with our Alpaca/Wool blend lining. The body, collar, and sleeves are all lined to create one of the warmest jackets we’ve ever offered. We also made subtle updates and refinements to the pattern to create the best fitting Mariner jacket yet. The wool cuffs are new as well - custom made for Freenote in the USA. Taking full advantage of the fur collar, a hidden throatlatch was added to secure the collar when popped to fend off the harshest weather.

Don't Forget the Utility

Such a great jacket, form and materials of construction that are an expected staple of Freenote. But don't forget the utility of the jacket. I am very grateful for how well it has held up in the very cold wind chill we are having as of late. The Bedford cord is superb, the only thing better would be a heavy waxed cotton canvas of the same color(s), but then again, it may not be as comfortable with such. I also like how it is also somewhat a trucker length, not too long or short.

beautiful

This is now my favorite winter coat. It's been perfect for winter in NYC. I never imagined removing my peacoat but this coat has been in heavy rotation since it arrived. It is made with the same quality and attention to detail that I've come to expect from Freenote. I also have a first generation Mariner Jacket (flannel lining) that has served me well for years during autumn and spring. If you're familiar with previous versions of the Mariner, know that this coat is substantially heavier and warmer. My only critique is that the wool liner can be a bit itchy through lighter shirts. Sleeves are also fully lined. Freenote has become my go-to brand as their quality and detail are unmatched. I'll be wearing this coat until the day my son steals it from me.
