SHWOOD:
An Experimental Brand That Happens To Make Sunglasses

Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit the incredible Shwood HQ. They gave us a tour of their new offices space in SE Portland, where we were able to see their impeccable process in action, from the raw materials and machinery to their beautiful finished goods.

Shwood describes itself as an experimental brand that happens to make sunglasses. The company's in-house manufacturing process merges precision technology with classic skilled craftsmanship to create a timeless art form. Every step from veneering and precision lens cutting to shaping and finishing is conducted in its Portland-based workshop - yielding a 100% handcrafted piece of wooden eyewear.

We were able to view some exciting behind-the-scenes pieces like the original Shwood prototype, which features the brand's name hand-etched into the side; their current collection with Pendleton Woolen Mills; and a preview of a rad upcoming collaboration that we can't mention yet... stay tuned!
