About the Classic Jacket Espresso Corduroy

This jacket was one of the first pieces we designed for the birth of Freenote. It quickly became a staple and we consider it our version of the classic trucker style jacket. We modified the design of the front chest patch pockets by adding a curved shape to the flap and pocket. Switched the typical welt pockets with a pocket built into the front panels of the jacket.
Like our original model we brought back the interior pockets that are perfect for your wallet.

Update!

Please see my previous Gold review. As an update, I too snagged the Espresso thinking I would get the latest version in Gold, hoping it would be better sized in a Large. Instead I went with this color. When it arrived I was taken aback at how dark the dark brown is. It is almost...black, and I just can't get over how good it looks! And like the Gold it has this seemingly metallic tone to it that makes is stand out close up without being posh. Just genuinely old school vintage feel. The pictures on the FN website are nice, but can not do it justice. If you can, please see it in person even if you don't intend to buy it, it is that good of a corduroy.
The sizing accuracy relative the the chart is better this time around, although I am reading a ~21.5" front flat chest for the said 44" overall listed. Again, I am 6'2" 170+lbs with a naked ~40" chest and this fit is nearly perfect and will be able to fit in a good layer or even squeeze two. By itself with no layering it still hugs just right. Sleeves feel a bit shorter than previous version.

The missing piece in my wardrobe..

I'd been waiting for the corduroy trucker jacket in gold to come back in stock for the past couple of years, so when I got the notification that they were back in I dove straight to my computer to place an order, only to see this darker colour as a new option also!.. Man, that made my decision difficult.. I kinda wanted both but in the end chose to go with this new, darker "espresso" colour as I already have a couple lighter brown jackets and this one ticks all the right vintage aesthetic boxes for me.. gave me serious "Rubber Soul" vibes.. perfect for the Autumn. The jacket arrived with me in England just 4 days later!.. I can't believe how fast the shipping was! This is my 7th Freenote piece and as always it arrived beautifully packaged and presented. Taking the jacket out of the box, I was amazed at how reassuringly thick and robust the corduroy feels!.. (I've had corduroy jackets in the past and they've always been kinda thin, flimsy and unstructured!).
The high quality of workmanship is immediately apparent, from the stitching to the buttons it's a joy to behold! I went with a size medium (I'm 5'10" around 160lbs, 32 waits, and usually somewhere between a small to medium in shirts and jackets). This fit honestly couldn't be better!.. it feels tailored to my body perfectly! Slim fitting but not tight or restrictive. A beautifully flattering, structured fit. The perfect length on the body gives it a nice subtle vintage boxiness, almost like a Type 2 denim jacket. I honestly love this thing already and can see it really being the piece that can bring almost any outfit together. I can imagine the material with soften and age beautifully over time too.
Yet another example of why Freenote is one of my all time favourite clothing brands. From denim, to shirts to corduroy jackets, these guys know how to get it 100% right each and every time. Thanks guys, I can't wait to gig in this jacket too! Alex :)
