Mariner Heavy Jacket Navy

My first Freenote Cloth jacket and it's a beauty. Super sharp and attention to detail and quality is superb. I'm 6'0" and 195 lbs with an athletic build and broad shoulders and went with an XL which is perfect. I can move my arms nicely with good range of movement and wear with a thick sweater underneath. Only feedback would be to line the hand pockets with the same alpaca wool to make them warm.

It's a great jacket. I ordered a large 5'10'' 190 pounds wear a 42 sport coat. It fits good but with a large you can wear a light weight shirt under it and that's about it. It seems like it will be warmer than the R2 by itself. The difference is with a large in the R2 you could wear a hoodie under it or even a lightweight down jacket. This jacket has small arm holes was debating on exchanging for XL and if I lived somewhere cold I would size up. Quality is amazing. Third jacket from Free Note. Have the Riders the R2 and now this one. I wish it had gussetted shoulders but I assume these jackets are close to Navy reproduction. Great quality. Great company. Got the coat in navy I am sure this will outlast me.

Simply put, the best winter coat I've ever owned. Great fit, finish, and warmth. Classic look but with modern styling and rugged construction. Freenote went the extra mile with lined sleeves.

Had been looking for the older alpaca plain collar Mariner and was excited to see Freenote brought it back with an even heftier version. There's a lot of N-1s out there, but I'm glad this one is a little less of a military version. I'm a 45-46" chest and went with the XL for layering and the fit is great.

I’m glad I waited out on getting an RJ-2 because this is the best cold weather jacket I have ever worn and has everything I care for in it! With it being fully lined from the collar all the way into the sleeves means I can wear this jacket alone under a shirt into the 30s-40s and still be comfortable. The large, but not oversized, collar makes cold, windy days comfortable to be in and is comfortable to keep on the back of your neck when its cold out because of its lining. The ribbed cuffs are a perfect addition to keep the cold air out and warm air inside and don’t make the sleeves bunch up when reaching out or moving about. The zipper is nice, chunky, and feels like it can take the abuse throughout the years. It is a bit stiff and hard to start at times when new but with frequent use and technique can get easier over time. My only complaint and request would be to add an additional zipper pull at the bottom of the jacket to make it more comfortable to wear when sitting down outside or in your car. Since the waist is zipped shut once you pull the zipper up, the jacket bunches up and rides up on you once you sit down making the collar come right up to your chin. I feel being able to adjust and loosen the waist to accommodate your different use cases would be a major improvement. But even without that revision this jacket is still a 10/10! So long as its not raining, this is the only jacket I see myself needing and using once the temperature drops again!
