About the Portola Classic Taper 14.50 Ounce Kaihara Denim
The Portola works for me as a relaxed tapered fit with the perfect mid/high rise and generous thigh girth, but without a billowy leg opening. The fabric is softer out of the box than most raw denim. Top notch finish and materials.
I know this is a subjective statement, but I’ll say it anyway - this is the best fit in the denim game. Coming from someone who has an athletic build, the portola gives me a great slim straight/tapered silhouette without being tight in the top block and thighs, and the rise is perfect (if you like a solid mid/natural rise - none of this low rise nonsense). This is the perfect ‘go-to’ pair for any occasion and any look. Of course fit and finish of the jeans is second to none especially in their price range, and Freenote’s customer service is incredible. The more I buy from Freenote, the more I realize that nobody does it better and I should really never buy from anyone else. Please guys, never change this fit - if you keep sellin’ it, I’ll keep buyin’ it (but even if you didn’t I’d still buy Freenote).
Unparalleled fit and finish. These have become my go-to jeans after trying *many* others.
My second pair . I love the tapered Portola fit. The fabric and attention to detail makes this denim my favorite. Awesome job shortening these to 30” for me . Thanks Freenote Cloth
As a product designer one of my favorite measures of product quality is what happens to our impressions of an item the more we use it. The more I wear these, use them, wash them and live with them, the more I like them and the more I realize I will probably never own another brand of denim.
