I bought an RJ-1 at the end of 2021 and, at that time, it was the best jacket that I had ever worn. I wrote a review of it, saying as much. Then, November 26, 2024, I saw an Instagram post from Freenote Cloth showing their new RJ-2 in olive, 20oz, waxed canvas. What a great looking jacket. The olive colour canvas contrasted perfectly with the brown shearling collar. The tobacco and black colours were nice, but the olive...wow. So I went to their web site; I had to have one. Then I saw the price...another wow. I pumped the brakes - hard. That was a lot of money for a jacket and I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. So I exited the web site and, sadly, went on with my day. But I couldn't stop thinking about the jacket. I kicked the idea of buying it around, in my head, for a couple days. Then the Black Friday Sale dropped with 20% off. Now I was really tempted and finally decided to go for it. I went to the web site and the size Large were sold out. I guess I just wasn't meant to have this jacket. I kicked myself for the next month and, for some reason, I tossed an email off to Freenote telling them how disappointed I was to have missed out on this great jacket. To my surprise, I got a reply, that same day, saying that they had dug through their warehouse and found a Large that wasn't in their online inventory and would I like to have it? Ah...yeah I did. So I guess I was meant to have it.

So I received my jacket today and it is now, officially, the new "best jacket that I have ever worn". I am 6ft tall and 165lb and the Large fits perfectly. It is surprising how much heavier the 20oz canvas is, compared to the 10oz of the RJ-1. And the shearling is thick and soft and warm; I love it. Everything about this jacket screams quality, like everything else Freenote makes. This jacket feels like it would stop a bullet. If you can ever get your hands on one of these jackets, you will not be disappointed. Freenote Cloth hit this one out of the park.

This may be the coolest coat I have ever owned. Got it for Christmas from my wife. Love the green! Runs a little bigger than the rider jacket so you can layer under it. I am 5'10'' 190 wear a 42 sport coat and this thing fits great. Quality and craftsmanship is top notch. Love it. Great company and always quality products and service

This is the perfect winter coat- it’s incredibly warm and feels like armor. The shearling is super cozy and the fit is impeccable- 6’ 195lbs and the large fits perfectly with room for a flannel underneath, not that you’d need it in this thing. 10/10 highly recommend
