Trabuco Classic Straight 14.50 Ounce Kaihara Denim

I'm 5'6, 154lbs, 32in waist (vanity size) athletic fit, and have a flat stomach........but no butt. I tried on the Trabuco at a local store in Salt Lake City (The Stockist). They didn't have my size, but they did have a 31 which I tried. It was a bit tight, but once I tried them on, I knew from that moment that I had to have them. I didn't walk out with them, but I did purchase a pair of Rios which I also like very much. The next day, I jumped onto Freenote's site and ordered two pairs of Trabuco's......the Kaihara and the 17oz Black Denim. The Kaihara material, fit, and look is exceptional. Coming from Levi's, they fit similar to 505's, but better. The Trabuco sits just below my belly button and since I dont have much of a butt, they don't bunch up in the middle of my butt like the 505's do. The overall dimensions of the Trabuco are a tad bigger making them more comfortable and more fashionable on me (for my body type). They are a true classic straight fit which can be used as everyday jeans and casual wear. The Trabuco's will be my everyday jeans which pair up nice with Moc Toes or sneakers and the Rios (with the slimmer fit) will be my date night jeans.

Freenote provided amazing customer service, helping me identify both the sizing and the style of cut that would work best for me. Denim arrived and it's exactly what I was hoping for - robust but not too heavy or stiff, very well-made, beautiful coloring. The Trabuco fit my athletic frame perfectly. Thighs provide enough room without being any sort of baggy. Knees and calves wide enough that movement is easy. Leg opening is the perfect size to look good with any sort of footwear, and can fit over a boot. Truly a classic, everyday fit. Can't wait to see how they look in six months! Thank you, Freenote!

I have a few other pairs of Japanese selvedge jeans from other companies at this price point or higher. These are by far the best-made. The attention to detail is incredible-- from the buttons to the stitching to the rivets to the patches. The fit is great. I ordered a size down based on the dimensions, but I found that they fit true to size (I wear 34 in other brands and 34 in these).

These are the perfect jeans. They aren’t tight and they aren’t baggy. They remind me of how the 501s fit, yet, these are way more quality than Levis. Everything from the thick leather patch, only sewn on two sides (so you can slip your belt through), to the belt loops being sewn into the waist, to the selvege line matching the color of the topstitch, to the thick, yet soft pocket bags, appear to have a lot of thought put into it. From day one, these have become my favorite jeans, and I own jeans from all the major raw denim brands. I’m excited to see how they break in. Thank Freenote!
