FREENOTE CLOTH X WHITE'S BOOTS - LINEMAN LTT - MARYAM TOSCANELLO HORSEBUTT & SEIDEL BROWN VOYAGER

American workwear has always been one of the biggest inspirations here at Freenote. Naturally, when an opportunity to work with one of the all-time great Made in the USA brands presented itself, we didn't hesitate. White's Boots has been around since 1853 (not a typo, they have been cranking out boots since the mid eighteen-hundreds). Built to the highest standards, White's is a household name with loggers and wildland firefighters in the Pacific Northwest. Their boots are designed with durability and all-day comfort as the top priorities.

For inspiration, we combed through countless Japanese exclusive boots and special make ups that White's has made over the years. The final design takes White's ever popular 55 last on the lace-to-toe platform, and adds a low-profile lug sole to create a silhouette that is true to White's workwear origins yet tailored to modern casual wear. We selected Maryam Tannery's Toscannelo Horsebutt, a beautiful, lusturous leather that starts off a light caramel color and ages to a classic vintage brown. In addition, Siedel Tannery's Brown Voyager was selected for a lineman patch and contrasting gusseted tongue, a nod to the contrasting panels seen on many Japanese exclusive White's Boots. Over time, as the Maryam Toscannello darkens, the colors of the two leathers will become more similar, creating a tonal look with the pebble grain of the Brown Voyager offering a subtle textural contrast. Like all good things, these boots will look and feel better with each wear as they break in and develop a rich patina.
